Empty State Lights Up Our Wigmore Street Showroom

Last week, we were delighted to welcome Empty State into our Wigmore Street to fit the custom lights they had designed for our space. It was fascinating to see how the team had designed, and created the installations and the care with which they were constructed.

Each light was individually crafted for each area of our showroom, to make a design statement and enhance the architectural aesthetic of our kitchens.

Empty State’s lighting designs draw inspiration from contemporary architectural styles and design icons through the ages, with each design available in endless configurations. Every piece is meticulously designed, manufactured and assembled by hand in the UK, and it was a pleasure to have the team come in to fit and finalise their creations.

Take a look below to see how the lighting looks in situ.

Above and below: ‘Branch’ works beautifully with our monolithic stone Eggersmann kitchen island.

‘Branch’

Frosted cylindrical glass tubes sit within a tiered brass structure.

‘Light Pipe’ with green marble, sits vertically within a side section of our Eggersmann dark wood cabinets, making a feature of a previously unused area. It now illuminates the space, making a feature of the side of this beautiful kitchen.

Below: The same light design is seen in its alternative colourway of black marble with brass, suspended vertically above our cantilevered stainless steel island, accentuating the lines of the design.

‘Light Pipe’

A frosted glass light pipe with polished white, green or black marble and brass segments.

‘Ball + Hoop’

A two-tiered brass frame which chandelier holds twelve illuminated glass orbs takes centre-stage in our meeting room.

A single-tier aluminium, eight-ball version of the ‘Ball + Hoop’ adds an intriguing element to our darker, more dramatic kitchens designs on our lower ground floor.

‘Pill’, a capsule-shaped pendant made from handblown glass with brass features adds a subtle smokiness to our contemporary kitchen display, complementing the warm wood cabinets.

This beautiful collection can be hung as a cluster as seen in our display or hung individually.

We love how it can be used to add a subtle shadow of colour with the opal white, smoked and pink , or add a brighter accent colour of amber, green or blue!

Our central staircase is graced by the beautiful ‘Lohja’ in dark burnished bronze, a design by Empty State’s sister company, the award-winning Cameron Design House.

This iconic Cameron Design House pendant light is inspired by the tranquil lakes of Lohja, Finland. The contemporary design won The International Design and Architecture Award for best Pendant/Chandelier.

Exploring tranquillity, space and equilibrium, Cameron Design House’s iconic design, ‘Lohja’ combines simplicity with geometry creating a striking, balanced sculptural form which changes appearance from each angle.

The ‘Sabre’, made from engineered glass and solid brass or aluminium is designed to be suspended as a singular pendant as seen in our front kitchen display, or together as an interconnecting configuration (above).

Above and below: ‘Motion’ brightens up our desk area - an arrangement of metal rods hang at opposing angles, balanced by illuminated brass discs.

This beautiful selection of lights is easier to appreciate in person at our Wigmore Street showroom.

Our showroom is situated at 120 Wigmore Street, and is conveniently just behind Selfridges.
