Milan Design Week 2024

A beautiful city full of incredible design inspiration!

Our design team visited Milan last week for its annual design fair. Globally renowned for being an extravaganza of design inspiration, and it did not disappoint!

First up was a visit to the bustling biannual kitchen design exhibition โ€˜EuroCucinaโ€™ held at Rho Fiera Milano.

One of our key furniture partners Eggersmann displayed their striking design concept โ€˜Namiโ€™ (which means โ€˜waveโ€™), a sculptural cantilevered island design created in collaboration with New York design studio Yabu Pushelberg @yabupushelberg. A symbiotic blend of German engineering and Japanese design influence.

The name โ€˜Namiโ€™ means beautiful and wave, and entwines a bold architectural look with functionality.

In addition to Eggersmann we also saw lots of exciting new developments at Quooker, Miele, Siemens and VZug.

We headed to the beautiful Villa Necchi Campiglio - which featured in the film House of Gucci - and was certainly a suitably impressive venue for the launch of Gaggenauโ€™s Evolution of Gravity experience. The brandโ€™s latest launches include an innovative hidden induction hob, named โ€˜The Essential Inductionโ€™ - an invisibly integrated induction hob that is undetectable within a surface. A new dark steel fridge was also launched and we caught a glimpse into the future of their oven designs which is currently top secret!

We couldnโ€™t leave Milan without a trip to the Brera district to soak up more inspiration, where we saw a move towards a softer aestethic - stone, ochres and muted terracottas. Woods with ribbing and textured stone added to the harmonious look - creating a sense of continuity within the kitchen and living spaces.

We canโ€™t wait to start incorporating these exciting design ideas and products into our designs for our clients!
